THE SWISS FEDERAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ZURICH (ETH ZURICH) IS THE NEW KENNEDY OF MADASTER
The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) is the new Kennedy of Madaster Switzerland. In the coming months, the renowned research and educational institution will work with the other Madaster Kennedys to design material passports for their properties and develop a better understanding of buildings as material depots. As a building owner with a real estate portfolio of around 200 buildings, ETH Zurich is modernising the existing building portfolio and site infrastructure in order to create optimal teaching and research conditions.
"As ETH Zurich we see great potential for circularity and the closure of material cycles in the modernization and demolition of buildings. With Madaster, the requirements for materialization can be better understood and reference points can be created for a circular design process," says Professor Dr. Ulrich Weidmann, Vice President, Human Resources and Infrastructures, ETH Zurich.
