MADASTER AND GEBRUIKTEBOUWMATERIALEN.COM COLLABORATE ON THE REUSE OF BUILDING MATERIALS

Nederland, Utrecht – 5 februari 2019 – Today, Gebruiktebouwmaterialen.com (GBM), part of A. van Liempd Sloopbedrijven, and Madaster Services signed a partner agreement. Through this partnership, Madaster’s online library of materials and GBM’s circular market place for building materials are stimulating the reuse of used building materials. Circular construction, thus, will become easier.

LIBRARY OF MATERIALS

Madaster functions as an online library that documents materials and buildings, similar to the registration of property ownership and land division at a land registry. Via this online library, users of Madaster may generate a secure, web-based material passport for their buildings. A material passport contains a large amount of information about the quality and origins of materials and their current location. This makes them easier to recover and reuse, in cases of demolition, renovation or restoration. Buildings, thus, become documented ‘storage units’ of materials.

CIRCULAR MARKET PLACE OF BUILDING MATERIALS

Demolition company A. van Liempd Sloopbedrijven has developed the Gebruiktebouwmaterialen.com(GBM) online market place, available to both private citizens and companies. GBM uses its own demolition team to professionally remove materials from building that are to be demolished or renovated, checks their quality and, subsequently, offers them for sale, to be reused, via the website www.gebruiktebouwmaterialen.com.

‘We are very pleased to be adding GBM to our network of partners. They possess the required knowledge in the areas of inventory, circular demolition and the liquidation of building materials via a market place. This directly offers new services to Madaster’s users, such as conducting building inventories, as well as providing them with a sales partner. Via this partnership, we are striving to provide as many existing buildings as possible with a material passport, and to achieve an automatic link between Madaster and the GBM market place, in 2019.’
Rob Oomen, Partnership Manager

‘The circular construction economy is taking shape. At GBM, we are working every day on combining the related demand and supply, in the best possible way. Our objective is to close the resource loop for building owners. Together with Madaster, we will ensure that demand and supply are coordinated both rapidly and adequately. In this way, informed investment choices can be made that are based on market value, well in advance of the actual demolition date.’
Arie van Liempd, GBM Director
