Kick-off Madaster Germany
On 4 March, over 115 people attended the online Madaster Germany kick-off. The livestream presented participants with a varied programme. Patrick Bergmann (Managing Director Madaster Germany) welcomed all participants, after which Thomas Rau (co-founder Madaster) elaborated on the function of buildings as a repository of materials. This was followed by the first Kennedys introducing themselves: Drees & Sommer, Interboden, Edge Deutschland, ASSIDUUS Development, Commerz Real, Kondor Wessels, Arup and Buwog/Vonovia. Afterwards, Kasper Guldager Jensen (co-founder Home.Earth, visiting professor at TUM and chair of the European Standards for Circular Construction) used the Circular Economy incentive to motivate people to become a driving force behind circular processes. Pablo van den Bosch (co-founder of Madaster) also gave a presentation on Madaster’s international strategy. The full programme can be viewed here (in German and English).
In the coming months, Madaster Germany will enter into discussions with banks, architects, developers, construction companies and asset managers. The goal is to expand the Kennedy network to 33 companies who, together, will form the backbone of the transition towards a circular construction economy in Germany.
